Colour trends for 2018

4th April 2018

There have been a number of design trends that have stuck with us over the past few years. From the dawn of ‘Shoreditch Grey’ we have seen a number of calm understated colours that simply don’t seem to wash away, and we still love them. Off-white, slate grey, pale blues and purples and greens. These colours don’t seem to be going anywhere but they are being adapted and used with other designs and colours to keep them looking fresh and up to date.

If you take a look at the Dulux 2018 Colour Trends you can see that the colours above are still prominent trends for this year. To bring warmth to these cool colours you need additional details in brown, terracotta and rose which really bring the looks to life. Think rusty tones, clay pots and leather detailing.

If you want to keep the look cold, crisp and utilitarian you can add features in darker tones such as navy and black.

Tropical wallpaper prints like those by Cole & Son are a big design trend for 2018 and they work so well with green tones to add an interesting feature to your home. If you aren’t quite ready for a full feature wallpaper wall then simply adding some foliage to your home can add a much-needed touch of freshness to any room.

One final colour trend for 2018 is adding a burst of contrasting colour to your room to make the design really pop. This could be as simple as adding a few brightly coloured chairs or pieces of art.
