Autumn Bathroom Design Trends 2018

19th October 2018

A bathroom used to just be a place to wash, but people are spending more and more on making sure their bathroom is the perfect place to rest and relax in their homes. Long gone are plastic bath mats and rubber ducks. We want marble surfaces, beautiful lighting and a bathtub you can really sink into. Here are just a few of the latest bathroom trends for 2018.

Grayscale

If you prefer a more industrial look then maybe this is the look for you. This look is all about minimalist styling and understated elegance. Use the same basic monochrome colour pallet in different patterns and surfaces. For instance, this bathroom only uses shades of black, grey and white in different textures and finishes.

Spa Luxe

Why spend all that money going to the spa when you can create a retreat in your own home? Marble surfaces, bespoke stone sinks, great tiling, and soft lighting all add to that spa-like feel. The addition of a deep soak bathtub and maybe a walk-in open shower room can help to turn your bathroom into your own private relaxation area. Finish the look with bamboo plants and white fluffy towels.

Stand Alone Bathtubs

A bathroom really is all about the bathtub and a luxury standalone bathtub can make quite an impact. Traditionally a standalone bathtub would be the antique four-legged version, but now many companies are offering a contemporary alternative. Just take a look at this stunning example from Victoria + Albert.
